SIA Celebrating Major Milestone

In addition to the vehicle, the company will honor about 200 employees who have been at the plant since the very first vehicle was produced in 1989. The plant employs more than 5,500 workers in all.
SIA produces the Subaru Outback, Legacy and Impreza models. The Impreza is the latest addition to the plant, with the first American-made version of the vehicle rolling off the line last month.
Friday’s celebration caps off a busy year for SIA, which celebrated its three millionth Subaru in July. The plant formerly produced the Toyota Camry in addition to Subaru models. SIA also recently completed a $140 million expansion project that added 1,200 employees.
