The company says it will also provide internship opportunities for students looking to enter the real estate industry.
The endowed scholarship will be valued at $50,000. In addition, part of the commission from successful real estate deals involving Marian staff and alumni will help fund the scholarship.
Litz says, in addition to access to "a steady stream of top-notch local talent from the university," it will receive recognition in Marian’s new Clark H. Byrum School of Business, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
Marian University President Dan Elsener says the partnership will bring "much-needed support to our community," adding, "Our students will gain professional experience through Litz Real Estate’s internship program and will greatly benefit from the generous endowed scholarship."
On Friday, Litz Real Estate and Litz & Eaton Development Co. will celebrate the completion of a $3.65 million renovation and restoration of the Blum Building in the city’s historic Mass Ave District. The building dates back nearly 120 years.
