Improving Teacher Quality at Heart of IU-Led Initiative

Subscribe NowSix school systems throughout the state are working with an Indiana University-based initiative designed to boost teacher quality. Personnel from the Indiana Center on Teacher Quality will work with the schools on professional growth and support efforts.
IU says the project is focused on the concept of educational equity for teachers and students by helping build culturally responsive classrooms, recruit and retain teachers and support effectiveness of teachers and principals.
The center is funded through a $5 million State Personnel Development federal grant. Five districts and one charter school were selected:
- Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.
- Monroe County Community School Corp.
- Indianapolis Public Schools
- Greater Clark County School Corp.
- Anderson Community Schools
- Paramount School of Excellence in Indianapolis
