Blake Boldon, who has been with the organization since 2012, is leaving to become associate director in charge of the Drake Relays at Drake University in Iowa.
During his tenure, Boldon helped grow the nonprofit, formerly known as Indianapolis Monumental Inc., from hosting a single race in November to multiple races throughout the year. Beyond Monumental says a nationwide search for Boldon’s successor will begin immediately.
"Blake has contributed immeasurably to Beyond Monumental and to the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon over his short four-year tenure," said Katherine Coble, president of the Beyond Monumental Board of Directors. "We are very sad to see him leave, but we are thankful for his passion, vision and the way he has helped grow Beyond Monumental into a premier national event and the best marathon in the state of Indiana."
The organization announced last month it had rebranded itself as Beyond Monumental. This year’s CNO Financial Indianapolis Marathon will take place November 5 and is expected to bring up to 19,000 participants.
