Parvin Price has joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Indianapolis office as a partner in the firm’s Government Services and Finance Department. He was formerly chair of the Utility Practice Group at Bose McKinney & Evans. Price also previously served as Indiana’s utility consumer counselor from 1981-1985 and as a deputy attorney general from 1977-1981. During his private sector legal career, he has represented clients in front of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Indiana Department of Environmental Management and trial and appellate courts. His client base, which includes a number of natural gas, electricity and water providers, has included investor-owned, cooperatively owned, or municipally owned utilities in addition to industrial or wholesale customers. Price serves as general counsel of the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. Additionally, he has been a member of several associations, including Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Associations, American Water Works Association, Indiana Rural Water Association, Indiana Regional Sewer District Association, Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, Indiana Energy Association, Indiana Municipal Electric Association and Electric Cooperative Bar Association. Price earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville as part of the class of 1977 after he received a bachelor’s degree in 1974 from the University of Evansville.
