While financial details were not disclosed, Supremex says it has acquired "substantially all of the assets" of Bowers Envelope Co. Inc.
Bowers was founded in 1928 and employs 50 workers at its 75,000 square-foot facility. Supremex says Bowers’ current general manager, Mike Daniel, will continue to lead operations in Indianapolis following the acquisition.
"This acquisition, while relatively small, aligns with our strategy to extend our reach in key markets and to expand our value added offering in packaging and specialty products," said Stewart Emerson, chief executive officer of Supremex. "Bowers Envelope is a well-known brand strategically located less than 300 kms from Chicago at ‘The Crossroads of America’ in a robust envelope market and a major hub for e-commerce distribution."
Emerson says the acquisition positions Supremex to serve approximately 60 percent of the U.S. envelope market. The company has operations throughout Canada, as well as in Massachusetts and New York.
