The company has enhanced six cell towers in the county with additional 4G LTE capacity in areas including Brownsburg, Danville and Lizton, among others.
AT&T says the enhancements are similar to "adding more lanes to a highway." Cell towers in Plainfield, Indianapolis and Friendswood also received the enhancement.
"We talk about infrastructure in terms of roads and bridges, and sewer and water pipes all the time, but technology infrastructure is equally as important when it comes to growing our economy," said Jeff Pipkin, interim executive director for the Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership. "It’s great to see this latest improvement to AT&T’s network in Hendricks County. We appreciate their ongoing investments in our communities."
In February, AT&T added a new cell tower in Brownsburg. Last month, the company announced it had launched its GigaPower and Business Fiber Services in central Indiana.
