The University of Indianapolis and city leaders say a $25 million student housing development will spark development. Mayor Joe Hogsett and UIndy President Robert Manuel took part today in the dedication of the nearly 500-bed Greyhound Village. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Manuel says the layout of the complex will "force collaboration" among students.

Mayor Joe Hogsett will be among the speakers Thursday, Aug. 11, when the University of Indianapolis conducts a dedication ceremony for the new 486-bed Greyhound Village student apartments.

Work on the student apartment complex began in May 2015. It is located along the first leg of the the city’s planned Red Line rapid transit bus route that will take IndyGo passengers to and from Broad Ripple. The school says that will give students and neighborhood residents faster and more convenient access to workplaces, government offices, shopping and dining as well as cultural and recreational attractions.
