Launch Fishers Chief Executive Officer John Wechsler says this year’s FailFest, set for Thursday at Fishers High School, features a speaker lineup of more than 20 business, civic and nonprofit leaders talking about times when they dealt with failure in their personal or business lives, and how they moved forward. He says the goal is a culture shift in the business community, where progress is not stifled by the fear of failure.
Wechsler says, since FailFest debuted in 2014, it has become an "easy ask" for speakers, as business leaders "want to jump at the chance" to help entrepreneurs inventory what can be learned from adversity and turn the page. He expects more than 300 to attend this year’s event.
This year’s FailFest is being hosted by Wechsler, Incentus Global founder Val Crooke and Verge founder Matt Hunckler. The slate of speakers come from a wide range of industries. They include ClusterTruck founder and ExactTarget co-founder Chris Baggott, high-profile intellectual property attorney Jonathan Polak, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership President Betsy McCaw and Marco’s Pizza Area Representative and two-time Super Bowl Champion Brandon Gorin.
Wechsler says FailFest aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from other people’s failures, make connections and give a "backstop" as they deal with their own experiences and pursuits.
