Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Indiana has hired Katie Eaton as economic development manager. Her experience includes positions with Junior Achievement La Porte County and The Center of Workforce Innovations.

In her new position, Eaton will focus on EDCMC’s Business Retention and Expansion program, Workforce Development initiatives and community partnerships. The Michigan City area resident is a graduate of Michigan City Area Schools and Purdue University North Central. 

The organization says Eaton’s work at The Center of Workforce Innovations included collaborating with regional employers on workforce needs and marketing for job openings. At Junior Achievement La Porte County, she worked with communities, schools and business to raise money, manage volunteers and build program offerings.

In a release from EDCMC, Executive Director Clarence Hulse said, "With so many new projects and local initiatives that EDCMC is a part of, I am happy to have Katie on board to assist and I am excited for the experience she brings to the organization."
