Police Chief Named in Fort Wayne

Reed, who has served with the Fort Wayne Police Department since 1993 and most recently served as assistant police chief, will begin his new role August 1. He previously served as a patrol officer for the Butler City Police Department and a confinement officer for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department. A swearing in ceremony will be held the morning of August 1. Reed succeeds Garry Hamilton, who will leave the position to lead the department’s new community relations division.
