The $5.5 million facility, which manufactures trusses and wall panels, is expected to result in up to 100 new jobs by 2019.
The building materials and services supplier operates four store locations in the Indianapolis area. President Maggie Hardy Magerko says Tuesday’s events are about "celebrating the economic growth the community will experience over the next few years." The Johnson County facility is one of several 84 Lumber openings this month. The company is also opening plants or stores in North Carolina, Florida and Georgia.
The company announced plans in January to set up operations in the former Trussway facility in Franklin, which had been vacant since 2009. 84 Lumber has begun hiring for plant management and production associate positions.
