The free flight competition will be held in the atrium of the West Baden Springs Hotel.
The competition, which was recently held in Romania, features small model aircraft, some of which are powered by rubber motors. The hotel atrium last hosted the event in 1980. It has also hosted a two-day indoor contest each spring for the past four years, which has attracted some top US F1D fliers.
The event will be held March 18-23, 2018. The West Baden Springs Hotel will also provide lodging and meals for competitors, officials and contest workers.
The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, which promotes the event, was formed in 1905 and governs various styles of air sports, including aeromodelling, ballooning, general aviation, gliding and astronautics records.
