Girls in Spotlight at Passport to Hi-Tech

Subscribe NowAn event created to help engage girls in science, technology, engineering and math careers is expected to attract 1,500 participants. Passport to Hi-Tech will take place Saturday at Conner Prairie in Fishers and include 30 stations and presentations throughout the museum.
Interactive exhibits and displays will focus on subjects including biology, chemistry, engineering, manufacturing and computer science. Women who are experts in STEM disciplines will be on-hand to answer questions. Girls will receive stamps on their "passports" after visiting each station to help them decide which fields were most interesting.
Purdue University doctoral student Jocelyn Dunn, who has been featured by Inside INdiana Business, will discuss her recent eight-month-long simulated visit to a Martian habitat. Indiana University Kelley School of Business student Mikaela Gilbert, who launched a business called Chatter Eggs and Anderson-based Go Electric Inc. Chief Executive Officer Lisa Laughner.
Exhibitors include: Roche, Dow AgroScience, Cummins, Garrity Tool, Rolls-Royce, CIM System Robotics, Eleven Fifth Academy, Lilly, CE Solutions, Go Electric, Angie’s List, IU, Purdue, IUPUI, Indiana State University, Butler University, Ivy Tech, Marian University, Anderson University, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, Engineering for Kids, STEM Scouts, INFirst Robotics, 1st Maker Space, Video Game Palooza, Microsoft Store, Starbase Indiana and Link Observatory.
The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the interactive history park.
