Medical Device Company Chooses Orthopedics Capital

Subscribe NowA medical device company with offices in Louisiana and California is planning to open an office in Kosciusko County. Owl Manor Medical LLC says it will create more than 30 jobs in downtown Warsaw by 2019.
Owl Manor says it will invest more than $800,000 into the new 1,300-square-foot facility in northeast Indiana. The company was founded last year and has an existing manufacturing partnership with Huntington-based Advanced Engineering.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the average wage of the new jobs is expected to be 50 percent higher than a typical job in Kosciusko County. The company expects to begin adding sales, administrative, logistics and research and development positions next year in the "Orthopedic Capital of the World."
Owl Medical Chief Executive Officer Mark Schindel says "Indiana’s strong history and continued leadership in life sciences, complimented with the rich medical device history of Warsaw make it an optimal location to build our business."
Its animal health division, Owl Manor Veterinary, works on regenerative medicine technologies to treat joint, soft tissue and wound-related conditions in dogs and horses.
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer says "developing a new biomedical technology in a community of similar industrial resources strengthens Warsaw as a center of innovation."
Owl Manor Medical could receive up to $400,000 in conditional tax credits from the IEDC.
