Airport leaders say each carrier experienced growth in 2015. Overall, the airport says enplanements, defined as the number of people getting on a commercial aircraft at the departure airport, increased to 314,300. Among individual carriers, the facility says Delta reported a 6.44 percent increase, United reported a 1.42 percent increase, Allegiant experienced a 1.07 percent increase and charter flights increased more than 35 percent.
In a release from South Bend International Airport, Executive Director Mike Daigle said, "Thank you to the travelers in our region that choose to fly South Bend. It is because of their choice that SBN has grown. We look forward to building on this momentum in 2016 as more and more travelers see the value and convenience of flying local from South Bend."
