Rolls-Royce Scores Military Contract Boost

Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Defense has increased a contract between the Air Force and Rolls-Royce Corp. in Indianapolis. The company will receive nearly $154 million for spare engines and propulsion system work for the C-130J transport aircraft fleet.
Rolls-Royce will first receive nearly $78 million to provide 24 commercial engines for the aircraft. Work on the engines is expected to be completed by December 31.
The company will also receive just over $76 million to provide logistics support, program management support, engineering services, spares and technical data for the aircraft’s propulsion system. That work is expected to be completed by January 31, 2017.
The work will be performed in Indianapolis. In October, the USAF awarded a $36 million contract for engine upgrades to the C-130J aircraft.
