The company says it is closing one of its stores in Bloomington and plans to "aggressively remodel" two others within the state. These steps are related to Marsh’s larger plans to remodel and update 30 stores company-wide in 2016.
Marsh says the closure is due to lease expiration and underperformance of the location. The employees of the store will be offered positions at other Marsh locations.
The company says its second Bloomington location will begin an extensive remodel immediately along with Marsh’s store in Lafayette. Marsh recently completed remodels at its West Lafayette and third Bloomington locations.
Marsh has 73 supermarkets and two O’Malia’s Food Markets in Indiana and Ohio. It employees nearly 9,000 workers.
