The Indiana Builders Association has elected Jim Pressel to serve as its 2016 president. Pressel owns Pressel Enterprises in La Porte and previously served as president of the Builders Association of LaPorte County.

Pressel is the 64th president of the association. The board also elected Lance Swank of Mishawaka as vice president, Pat Richard of Lafayette as Treasurer and Don Thineman of Floyds Knobs as Secretary.

"Jim brings a wealth of experience to our association," said IBA Chief Executive Officer Rick Wajda. "As the chief spokesperson for housing in 2016, Jim will direct the policy development for affordable housing and work for its implementation with the governor and Legislature."

Pressel was named LaPorte Builder of the Year in 2002 and 2006. He also helped start the New Prairie Building Trades vocational program that offers building trades classes to teach students the various elements of construction and has served on the board for nine years.
