Our partners at the Times of Northwest Indiana report Vicari, who is also executive director of the city’s Sanitary District, has served in the airport position since May.
He succeeded former full-time director B.R. Lane, who left to lead the Illinois Lottery earlier this year. Vicari employment with the airport began in 2013, serving as airport expansion manager. His role involved efforts to help get the long-delayed, $174 million runway extension project back on track. The runway opened in June.
