Hope Added to Indiana Main Street Program

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has added the town of Hope to the Indiana Main Street Program. The program encourages cities and towns to strive for economic development, redevelopment and improvement of their downtown areas.
Main Street of HOPE, which is working to revitalize the Hope Town Square through preservation and beautification, accepted the designation from Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann. The organization is focusing its efforts on promoting local businesses while attracting new ones, creating new housing opportunities and becoming a destination for tourism.
“Our main streets play a vital role in providing a quality of place where people want to live, work and raise a family,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “I welcome Hope to the Indiana Main Street Program and commend them for collaborating with one another to ensure their hometown is revitalized for future economic growth and prosperity.”
Some of the projects being initiated by Main Street of HOPE include Pride in the Community Clean Up days, continuation of the farmer’s market and mural project and assisting in the maintenance of flowers in the downtown area.
