Indiana Campus Compact Receives $900K Grant
Indiana Campus Compact aims to encourage community engagement among students across the state.

The three-year grant will begin in July and aims to prepare college students for a life of community engagement while also providing valuable job-related skills.
Indiana Campus Compact says the grant will help to strengthen the assessment of service-learning initiatives as well as support training, technical assistance and project-based mini grants. The organization plans to develop a professional network for administrators, faculty, staff, students and nonprofit and business partners to support community-campus engagement.
“Funding from the Endowment will allow Indiana Campus Compact to support campuses as they learn more about community engagement and its impact in the lives of students and about what it takes to make campuses good homes for service learning and community engagement,” said J. R. Jamison, executive director of Indiana Campus Compact. “Students who are engaged in their communities through Indiana Campus Compact-supported programs will go on to be the next leaders of nonprofits and businesses, and in the government sector. It’s gratifying to know these leaders will steer with a sense of social responsibility.”
Indiana Campus Compact is a partnership comprised of 34 higher education institutions representing 60 campuses across the state. Its focus is to bring students together with community partners to "advance the public good."
