LaPorte County-based Michigan City Paper Box Co. is moving forward with an expansion. The company, which makes small boxes for big-name retailers, is planning to invest more than $350,000 into new equipment to support its four production lines.

Michigan City Paper Box says the move will help retain 16 jobs and lower overall production costs for the manufacturer.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, we will continue to expand our products and services to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers all over the world. We are proud to call Michigan City Indiana home."

The company has high-profile clients including Wal-Mart, Gap, K-Mart, Banana Republic, Kohl’s, Lord and Taylor and Coldwater Creek. The Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Indiana calls Michigan City Paper Box the "the premier manufacturer of cotton-filled jewelry boxes in the world."
