In a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Pure Metal Recycling LLC says it plans to cease operations at seven locations in Illinois and Indiana.
Last year, the company announced its new name, Pure Metal Recycling, after longtime Acme Refining owner Larry Baron retired and sold the business to Chris Dandrow. Dandrow is the company’s chief executive officer.
In a notice to the state, Pure Metal Recycling says the move is a result of "our inability to timely secure additional funding from any lending source and a contract for the sale of all of the assets of Pure Metal Recycling."
The company says all jobs lost and facility closings are permanent. Pure Metal Recycling’s notice to the state lists its headquarters among the closed operations.
