The aerial work platform sales, repair and rental company relocated its main office from Illinois. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the move was prompted, in part, to cut the long commute time for founder and Lowell resident Larry Workman.
The publication reports the company has had a hand in major projects throughout northwest Indiana, including relining of blast furnaces, building the Majestic Star Casino and expanding the East Chicago Praxair plant. Its clients include Walsh Construction, Ruth-Reilly and NIPSCO.
Illini Hi-Reach invested more than $13 million into the Lake County project. When the move was announced last year, the company employed 30 and planned to add more than a dozen managerial, sales, service, trucking and marketing associates by 2017.
The company was founded in 1993 and has around 1,000 rental units available. The 30,000 square-foot facility will help Illini Hi-Reach better serve construction, industrial and commercial clients in northwest Indiana and expand its reach throughout the state and Michigan.
