Subscribe NowThe Purdue Research Foundation has honored nearly 80 Purdue faculty and staff members for patents earned in the 2014-2015 academic year. The organization also named biomedical engineering professor Sherry Harbin the winner of its 2015 Outstanding Commercialization Award.
Harbin has earned nearly 100 patents through her innovations. She is the founder of GeniPhys Inc., and has developed self-assembling collagen materials used to create 3-D tissue and organs outside the human body. Those organs are used for research, drug discovery and toxicity testing.
