The relationship with Huzhou Vocational & Technical College will involve student and faculty exchange programs and collaboration on research and distance education.
The colleges formalized the partnership last week at the Ivy Tech Columbus campus. Ivy Tech President Tom Snyder and Huzhou Vice President Wu Haiyan took part in the ceremony. The relationship was fueled in part by visits from Columbus government, education and economic leaders to China. Ivy Tech representatives took part in those trips.
Huzhou Vocational & Technical College has seven schools offering 32 full-time degree programs and around 60 open and continuing education programs. The school is located in one of China’s most developed economic hubs. The two schools offer similar academic programs, including engineering technology, computer information technology and robotics.
