‘Groundbreaking’ Survey Going on in Muncie

Indiana Landmarks says ScoutMuncie is "groundbreaking in its use of technology and data collection."
Muncie Historic Preservation Commission President Brianna Paxton is spearheading the effort with help from members of organizations including Ball State University’s Graduate Program in Historic Preservation and the Department of Urban Planning Neighborhood Planning Studio.
Data are being collected using mobile app technology developed by the Delaware County GIS Department. Indiana Landmarks says the information will help the city with grant applications, community plan updates, zoning decisions and plan approvals, cultural tourism planning, disaster response and potential local designations.
