CIB Approves 20-Year Indians Lease

Subscribe NowThe Capital Improvement Board in Indianapolis has approved a 20-year lease agreement to keep the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field. The new agreement begins in April and calls on the team to pay no rent, but cover operational and maintenance expenses.
The Indians set a regular season attendance record in 2015, bringing in more than 662,000 fans. The team says the total marks the sixth straight year of increased attendance. The Indians have drawn more than 2.5 million fans over the last four seasons.
Earlier this year, Baseball America ranked Victory Field sixth on its list of Top 25 Major League Baseball parks.
