Services Set For Crawford

The civil rights champion will lay in-state Thursday at the Statehouse Rotunda, and Governor Mike Pence will lay a wreath at noon.
Crawford will lay in-state Thursday, October 1 from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Viewing is scheduled for Friday, October 2 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., with services from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Eastern Star Baptist Church on 30th St. in Indianapolis will host the services.
Crawford passed away earlier this week. He is the longest-serving African-American state lawmaker in Indiana history. He was an driving force on several high-profile initiatives, including the creation of Indiana Black Expo and projects like Circle Centre Mall and the Hoosier Dome.
In lieu of flowers, Crawford’s family is asking for donations in his name to Martin University, the IPS Foundation and the Vincennes University Bill Crawford Scholarship Fund.
