The acquisition has been approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. The American Suburban water system will be part of Indiana American Water’s West Lafayette district, which served approximately 28,000 residents.
In a release from Indiana American Water, President Alan DeBoy said, "The acquisition of this system will provide American Suburban water customers with lower rates and access to operations and capital management water professionals and a number of customer service options and payment methods. Indiana American Water already provides water service to the nearby City of West Lafayette in this part of the state, so this is a good fit for us and a continuation of our efforts to expand our presence across Indiana."
