Sunday Alcohol Sales Bill Stays Alive

House Bill 1624, which would allow carry-out alcohol sales on Sunday, is set for a final vote that could come early next week. It survived despite multiple attempts to amend the language, including one proposed by Jud McMillin (R-68) as an alternative to the “behind-the-counter” provision for hard liquor in grocery, drug and convenience stores.
The amendment was narrowly defeated 47-45.
