Combine Organizer Seeks to Stay in Indy

Subscribe NowThe Indianapolis-based company that organizes the annual NFL Scouting Combine is working on a multi-year deal to keep it in the city. National Football Scouting Inc. President Jeff Foster says he is in discussions with stakeholders including Visit Indy and Indiana University Health. On-field workouts for more than 300 prospects begin today at the event held at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Foster said the week-long event has evolved a lot over the years. The Combine has become the center of the NFL universe for this time of year and brings droves of media members, coaches, scouts and executives from all 30 NFL markets to Indianapolis.
The NFL Network alone features more than 45 hours of multi-platform broadcasting surrounding the Combine.
The position-specific workouts are the primary media draw. The schedule for those is:
-Friday, February 20: Specialists, offensive linemen, tight ends
-Saturday, February 21: Quarterbacks, running backs wide receivers
-Sunday, February 22: Defensive linemen, linebackers
-Monday, February 23: Defensive backs
Fisher says this year will include a new emotional evaluation component.
