Indianapolis-based Sun King Brewing Co. has terminated distribution agreements outside of the Indianapolis metropolitan area and Bloomington. President Omar Robinson says as sales continue to grow, the brewer is close to hitting Indiana's 30,000-barrel small brewery limit. He says he hopes Indiana lawmakers will increase the limit during the upcoming session. Robinson says the move will not affect plans for a $10 million brewery and tasting room in Fishers. Sun King plans to break ground on the Fishers facility this spring. The company purchased nearly 13 acres near I-69 and 96th Street for its second location.

When Sun King announced the brewery, Robinson told Inside INdiana Business it was part of a strategy to become “Indiana's beer.” He said the brewery had been negotiating with distributors to take the product statewide.
