The award recognizes “Hoosier farm families who exemplify leadership, community involvement, and innovation both on and off the farm.”
Tim and Julie Frame embody the values of the annual award, Beck’s said in a news release, through the work they do at their farm, The Barn at Helm in Williamsburg, which has become an agritourism destination in Wayne County.
The farm hosts workshops, farm tours, educational experiences for students, and community events, drawing more than 5,000 visitors from five states each year, the company said.
“Farm families like the Frames are the backbone of our industry,” Scott Beck, president of Beck’s Hybrids said in the release. “Their generosity, innovation, and leadership inspire us all. They’ve created a space where people can connect, learn, and experience the joy of agriculture.”
The farm also donates fresh flowers grown in a repurposed grain bin to local hospitals and care facilities.
“Eleven years ago, I never imagined our dream of growing flowers would blossom into this,” said Julie Frame. “Combining our love for flowers with Tim’s farming heritage has been a blessing, made possible by our sons, volunteers, and countless visitors.”
The Frame family received the award at the Indiana Farm Bureau Convention in French Lick last month.
The other finalists for this year’s award were Hayden Grove Farms in Lake County, Prairie Hills Farm LLC in Delaware County, and Warner Family Farms in Allen County.
