The fall 2024 grant recipients included groups that support the arts, social services, economic mobility, education, civic engagement and the Jewish community, Glick Philanthropies said in a news release.
“While these grants from Glick Philanthropies support a broad range of initiatives, they are all filling critical gaps for at-risk, underrepresented, and vulnerable community members,” Marianne Glick, chair of the Glick Family Foundation, said in a news release. “As the needs of these communities continue to evolve, we’re committed to partnering with the nonprofit community to identify, develop, and support necessary solutions.”
A particular emphasis in this round of grants was to support nonprofit groups that help immigrants through their programming, such as an arts initiative or leadership program geared toward minorities, or through their mission, such as Grassroot Projects, Immigrant Welcome Center or Patchwork Indy.
“Indiana is rapidly becoming one of the primary destinations for immigrants and refugees from around the world,” said Bruce Garrison, chief executive officer of Patchwork Indy, a refugee advocacy organization. “This grant from Glick Philanthropies will allow us to develop a holistic approach to helping these individuals move from surviving, to thriving, to flourishing. A flourishing immigrant community leads to a flourishing broader community with less poverty and more economic opportunity.”
