Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Rosenberg is leading a contingent that will spend time in London and then Italy, the IEDC said Monday. Joining Rosenberg are officials with the IEDC and Vince Wong, the CEO of BioCrossroads—an entity focused on growing Indiana’s biomanufacturing ecosystem.
According to a news release, the traveling party will highlight Indiana’s work in the bioscience field at an event in London and then meet with officials at MedCity, the cluster organization for London’s health and life sciences sector, as well as UK government officials.
Hoosier representatives will also participate in the Genesis 2024 conference, where Rosenberg will join a fireside chat to “discuss the industry’s global landscape and Indiana’s growing leadership position.”
Then the group will make its way to Rome, followed by Milan. In Milan, leaders will discuss Indiana’s ties to the Italian region of Lombardy and explore opportunities for growth in the Italian marketplace.
The IEDC said Rosenberg and company will also meet with various Italian universities during the trip including the Polytechnic University of Milan and the PoliMOVE lab, which has a team that participates in the Indy Autonomous Challenge.
Indiana and Italy exchanged more than $5.16 billion worth of goods in 2023, according to the IEDC, with top products including chemicals, machinery, metals, transportation equipment and electronic parts.
