Pittman promoted to CEO of Purdue Research Foundation

Subscribe NowPurdue University announced Tuesday that Chad Pittman has been selected as the next president and CEO of the Purdue Research Foundation. Pittman, who has been with the foundation for a decade, will succeed the retiring Brian Edelman.
Pittman has held multiple leadership roles at the foundation since joining in 2014 as vice president for the Office of Technology Commercialization. He was named vice president of national security and defense development in 2018 and promoted to chief executive of economic development in 2020.
Prior to joining the foundation, Pittman spent five years with the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
“Chad understands the need for clear strategic purpose,” Mitch Daniels, former Purdue president and chair of the foundation’s board of directors, said, said in a news release. “His proven record of securing economic investments and research partnerships will continue to bolster economic development and innovation throughout the state of Indiana. I’m confident he will fulfill the foundation’s aim to advance Purdue in the quest for discovery, learning and engagement.”
Edelman has served as president of the foundation since 2017. He announced his plans to retire in August.
“Chad is the ideal choice to lead PRF into the future,” Edelman said. “I am grateful that Chad has chosen to bring his expert knowledge and connections to the role of president, and I look forward to seeing what he and the incredible PRF team can achieve during his tenure.”
Pittman will begin his new role on Feb. 1.
