The organization this week announced Adam Myers will serve as the nonprofit’s new leader beginning Jan. 2, following an extensive search.
According to the board, one of Myers’ responsibilities will be to start up a new YMCA facility in Gas City. The organization’s current headquarters is in Marion.
“The Grant County Family YMCA is thrilled to welcome Adam Myers to lead our team,” Grant County YMCA board president Susan Reese said in a release. “His unwavering commitment to this community and faith development in athletics is a perfect fit for our members, staff, board and our future. We are excited for his vision and things to come.”
Myers is a Marion resident who has experience in nonprofit work at the Grant County Boys and Girls Club and Indiana Wesleyan University. He is a graduate of Huntington University.
Adam Myers will take over the role of CEO from Charlie Myers, no relation, who stepped down in September.
“I am excited to step into this new role as the CEO of the Grant County Family YMCA,” said Adam Myers in a statement. “The YMCA has a rich history in this community, and I look forward to making a continued impact.”
