Zimmer Biomet announced that Schwarzenegger will be the company’s chief movement officer.
The new position, created just for him, is meant to help advance the company’s mission to improve quality of life.
Zimmer Biomet, which is one of the largest orthopedic medical device companies in the world, said Schwarzenegger, who has had a hip replacement, is the perfect person for the role.
“People are seeking to lead healthier, more active lifestyles as they age, and the demand for people to keep moving pain-free is increasing,” said Zimmer Biomet CEO Ivan Tornos. “I cannot think of a better partner than Arnold to join us as chief movement officer, to help advance our shared mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world. Together, we’re going to do amazing things for patients, surgeons and communities.”
Schwarzenegger said in a statement he hopes to use his new role to encourage others to make positive changes and live an active lifestyle.
“I knew that combining my expertise in strength and in fitness and my passion for inspiring healthy living with this team would create something really powerful. Together, we will inspire people to build healthy habits, maintain mobility through movement, and take an active role in their wellness,” Schwarzenegger said.
