The company, which manufactures cleaning and sanitizing products, has acquired the Magic Finish Premium Car Care brand of car wash chemicals and auto detail products from Cul-Mac Industries, headquartered in Wayne, Michigan.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. As part of the deal, Warsaw Chemical has hired three Cul-Mac employees with plans to add up to five production and shipping positions.
“This is an important milestone for Warsaw as we strengthen and expand our presence in the car wash industry by adding a well-recognized and reputable brand of premium products to our line-up,” CEO Glenn Schischa said in a news release. “As the car wash industry continues to evolve, we will continue to be a leading force in chemistry innovation and service to our valued partners.”
The Magic Finish brand provides a variety of cleaning products for the automatic and self-serve car wash industry. The brand was founded in 1971 and was acquired by Cul-Mac in 2007.
A spokesperson for Warsaw Chemical said the company is moving all Magic Finish production to Warsaw. The company currently employs about 70 people in northeast Indiana.
The acquisition comes as Warsaw Chemical is moving to a 220,000-square-foot campus on the city’s north side. The company is investing $10 million in the new location, which includes two buildings at 3454 North Detroit Street.
The spokesperson said the company needed a larger space to accommodate current and future growth. The city of Warsaw is acquiring the company’s current facility for $6.5 million, a move that was approved by the city council in August.
