Do It Best Foundation announces community grants

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Do It Best hardware and building materials seller. In total, the organization announced $113,000 in funding this quarter to a variety of recipients.
The organizations getting money span the country and include:
- American Red Cross (Fort Wayne, IN) – $5,000
- Be Strong Go On (Medina, OH) – $5,597
- Charley Co Boxing (Dixon, IL) – $2,000
- Christ Child Society (Fort Wayne, IN) – $5,000
- Community Harvest Food Bank (Fort Wayne, IN) – $10,000
- Mission Lexington (Lexington, SC) – $15,000
- Mesquite Toes Dance Troupe (Mesquite, NV) – $5,000
- Self-Care JS (Montgomery, NY) – $5,000
- Senior Resources (Lexington, SC) – $5,000
- Wheel to Walk Foundation (Woodburn, OR) – $5,000
In addition to those grants, the Do It Best Foundation is giving $50,000 to Fort Wayne-based Arts United’s Soaring Vision capital campaign, which is supporting a $40 million expansion of the Arts United Center in the city’s downtown.
Per a release form the translation, applications for the next giving cycle are open through Nov. 22.
The foundation this summer announced leadership change as Randy Rusk was elevated to the organization’s president.
