Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Multatech is a full-service engineering firm that provides civil design and construction administration for a variety of projects, including railroad infrastructure, transportation and municipal design, and utility infrastructure.
Lochmueller said in a news release that the acquisition was part of a strategic planning process to identify ways to grow in size and diversify its market area, client base and service offerings.
“Multatech already has a good team in place with long-standing relationships with a number of municipalities and agencies,” said Steve Fleming, Lochmueller’s chief operations officer. “We believe we have similar cultures and values and that our combined forces will allow us to continue serving our current clients throughout our broader market area while building new relationships.”
Lochmueller said Multatech will continue to operate under its current brand name for the immediate future under the leadership of its vice president and COO Paul Padilla.
“Lochmueller and Multatech share an overlap of services that complement each other,” Padilla said in the release. “This acquisition is a win for our existing clients as it allows us to expand the services we provide, a win for Lochmueller as it enhances their service lines and expands their footprint into Texas and throughout the southwest, and a win for Multatech as it provides additional opportunities and resources to support growth.”
It was not immediately clear how many employees Multatech has, but Padilla noted that there will be no reduction in the company’s workforce.
