State presents 2024 Golden Hoosier Awards

The award is given annually “to acknowledge and recognize outstanding seniors for their lifetime of service to their communities.”
Each award recipient was nominated by someone in their community. To be eligible, honorees must be age 65 or older, have been a volunteer in their community for the past three years, and currently reside in Indiana.
“Each of these Hoosiers has dedicated their life to serving communities across Indiana,” Crouch said in a news release. “They exemplify the Hoosier spirit of wanting to help, wanting to give back and being generous.”
The 2024 Golden Hoosier Award recipients are:
- Guy Brouillard (Plainfield, Hendricks County)
- Robert L. Buggs, Sr. (Gary, Lake County)
- Rebecca Compton (North Salem, Hendricks County)
- Randall Davis (Redkey, Jay County)
- Benny Eaton (Greenfield, Hancock County)
- Wayne and Jan Fox (Markleville, Madison County)
- Rachel Hannon (Kouts, Porter County)
- Frank T. Hayes (Madison, Jefferson County)
- Phillip Lee Katter (West Point, Tippecanoe County)
- Larry Loveall (Wilkinson, Hancock County)
- Ted Maze (Oolitic, Lawrence County)
- Charles “Chuck” R. Mellon (Francesville, Pulaski County)
- Jack L. Nichols (Cartersburg, Hendricks County)
- Dr. Steve Simpson (Gary, Lake County)
- Debbie Sutton (Plainfield, Hendricks County)
- Linda Wendell (St. John, Lake County)
