The three finalists are Chet Dixon, who teaches special education, business management, reading development, math remediation, algebra and geometry at Mooresville High School; Ellie Minogue, a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Klondike Elementary School in West Lafayette; and Graciela Miranda, an English language learning teacher at Pike High School in Indianapolis.
“Teachers make a difference in the lives of our students each and every day,” Indiana Secretary of Education Katie Jenner said in a news release. “The Indiana Teacher of the Year process gives us another opportunity to elevate the educator profession and celebrate their incredible impact.”
The finalists were selected by a committee comprised of former Teachers of the Year, IDOE staff, educational organization leaders, business and community leaders, and higher education representatives.
The 2025 Indiana Teacher of the Year will represent Hoosier teachers at the national level, the IDOE said.
