The franchisee, whose name is being withheld, was described as a seasoned multi-brand and multi-unit restaurant franchisee. Details on the financial investment were not immediately disclosed.
“As consumer demand continues to rise for protein-packed, healthy meal options, we are excited to welcome our very first franchisee to Protein Bar & Kitchen,” CEO Jeff Drake said in a news release. “The all-day power of protein is growing in popularity, and as we grow our footprint across the nation, we look forward to bringing PBK to Crown Point.”
A second location is expected to open in Munster. Each location is estimated to create between 18 and 20 jobs.
Protein Bar & Kitchen said it plans to attract even more franchisees with their refined store prototype offering a smaller footprint along with dine-in, carry-out, delivery, mobile app and online ordering, and catering.
In addition to experience in the restaurant industry, Protein Bar & Kitchen said it is looking for franchisees with a passion for accessible healthy eating options to join its growing system. The brand describes itself as an active lifestyle brand that extends far outside its four walls.
The restaurant has developed its menu with more than 15 protein options, and customers can expect a set of rotating flavors and ingredients throughout the day.
Sales for its Chicago store went up 27% year-over-year, with nearly over $1.3 million averaged in annual revenue.
