The organization said applications are open to any capital or infrastructure project that would advance the region’s goals of population growth, new high-paying jobs and workforce development, improved health outcomes, or working to reduce poverty.
The southwest Indiana region was one of six to receive the highest allocation of $45 million from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. in April.
To be eligible for READI funding, projects must meet funding thresholds of at least 60% private funding, 20% local or federal funding, and up to 20% in READI funds.
“We are eager to learn about projects that address critical challenges, capitalize on opportunities, and enhance the overall appeal of the Evansville Region,” E-REP Chief Economic Development Officer Josh Armstrong said in a news release. “READI funds will further strengthen and build resilience in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties.”
Applications opened June 4, and E-REP—in partnership with the Southwest Indiana Regional Development Authority—will have until Dec. 31, 2026 to review all applications and award grants until all funding is obligated.
All projects that receive READI 2.0 funding must be completed by Dec. 31, 2028.
E-REP said the projects will build on more than 20 projects that received funding from the READI 1.0 program, including the Ohio River Vision and Strategic Plan announced last month.
