While specific details are not being disclosed, the company said the investment support the advancement of its Enterprise Health software platform.
Medical Informatics Engineering was founded in 1995 and launched one of the nation’s first health information exchanges, the company said.
Its current platform, Enterprise Health, focuses on employee and occupational health for corporations, health systems, third-party occupational health providers, universities and government agencies. The company said it’s designed to streamline health surveillance, management of workplace injury and illness, regulatory compliance, reporting, immunizations, pre-employment exams, and clinical care.
“Our business has grown by an average of 40% over the last six years and our client retention rate remains near 100%,” Enterprise Health President Jeff Donnell said in a news release. “We recognize that scaling our level of performance while continuing to provide exceptional support to our clients will require capital and expertise. Serent has a proven track record helping software companies our size perform at a high level, and they support our mission-driven culture.”
Donnell said the company plans to use the investment to build on its revenue growth through a mix of growth initiatives.
MIE founder Doug Horner said partnering with Serent aligns with the company’s culture and approach to growth.
“With their deep expertise in healthcare and resources like their Growth Team, we look forward to scaling our platform, expanding our go-to-market activities, and enhancing offerings to our customers,” said Horner.
MIE currently employs 135 people, and Donnell said they fully plan on adding staff members, though a specific number wasn’t provided.
