Eric Steele will serve as the new managing partner of Flywheel Fund, which provides capital to Hoosier startups. After founding and leading a wireless technology company, Steele comes to The Mill having mentored and invested in early-stage founders for the past seven years at Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures.
“While I’m proud of our work when I look at the kind of growth we want and the potential on the horizon, we must have someone managing it full-time,” The Mill Executive Director Pat East said in a news release. “I’m excited about Eric as Managing Partner of Flywheel Fund because of his extensive startup background.”
Samantha Ginther joins The Mill as a startup coach, which means she’ll mentor and work with the accelerator’s startups. She has previously worked for Indiana University Ventures and Indianapolis-based High Alpha, has experience in early-stage investing and has been involved at The Mill since its inception, the organization said.
“Samantha bridges the gap, fitting the profile of our companies in the pre-seed and seed stages,” East said. “She also supports our work with High Alpha, preparing founders for Series A—where we need more assistance. Her thorough and conscientious approach, diving deep with numerous questions to understand the underlying reasons, is something I admire.”
