Deborah Ford was celebrated with an installation ceremony last Wednesday ahead of the IU Board of Trustees meeting.
Ford will oversee academics and operations at the New Albany campus and collaborate with the university administration and other regional campuses.
She took over from interim chancellor Kelly Ryan. Ray Wallace stepped down from the position in July 2021 due to his worsening health condition; he died Aug. 25, 2021.
“The vision for IU Southeast is compelling, and I am honored to join the learning community as chancellor,” Ford said previously. “President Pamela Whitten’s vision for Indiana University is inspiring, and the regional campuses serve a vital role in advancing education to students in communities throughout the state that is both attainable and affordable.”
Ford previously served as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She was also the founding president of the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood, which transformed 107 acres into an Innovation District.
